Can anyone reccomend a duck caller that immitates a teal to a certain degree. Lost my trusted one last year and wouldn't have a clue what to look for. Also a possible suggestion where I might be able to get it from would also be welcommed.
Cheers

Hi winger. You should find any crow call will do the trick. I use a haydels tc87 but am looking to replace it now as the reed is starting to stick and I think there may be other options. The wooden faulks crow caller is used by a mate and sounds really good. Otherwise hs waterfowl calls r pretty damn good too.
Cheers

A good place to start would be the AHSA store from the link at the top of the page |

Excellent suggestion, the people at AHSA will have a good range to select from. More importantly, they're duck hunters who know what they're talking about.
If it helps, I use a "Faulk's C-50 Crow Call, this makes for pretty realistic and effective Teal call.
Cheers,

Just do what I do, take George with you!
He has HEAPS of calls and is good at it too.
But to answer your question, when I have to go without George I use an OLT Model-400 Crow Call. These things are old, but I picked up a spare at the last Shot Show for $5. Frank O used to have a few of them. |

Hi Hardtop_110,
I do like my duck calls. They especially come in handy when you're surrounded by non-duck shooting hunters on a NT swamp................funny how well they work. Also funny how those non-duck shooting people quickly turn and become very keen on the ducks.
Best regards,
George |
